NATE LUCE / MAIA FRIEDMAN / ALEX SAUSER-MONNIG - MOONCUSSERS 7"
(email us at trevor dot yes at gmail.com for trade info)
This is a 7-inch made by the loose collective of Alexandra Sauser-Monnig, Maia Friedman, and me, Nate Luce.
The songs are nicely weird acoustic jaunts, sort of like Skip James high on drugs strolling down Tin Pan Alley with a lady on his arm.
Nate's songs were both written with the immense help of Maia Friedman. They are the first two installments of their life-long project to write one song a year together. They both feature Nate on guitar, and Maia and Nate singing. "Apple Tree" was recorded by Andrew Barton in 2007 or so, the other, "Lullabye," was recorded by Tavo Carbone in 2006-ish.
Alexandra's songs (Harmonium and Buffalo) both feature her doing everything. Buffalo was recorded by Tavo Carbone and Sam Rich, she did the other one herself. This song has now been redone by Mountain Man and is featured on their debut album.
For a limited time, each 7-inch comes with a hand-made cardboard cover, with one drawing on each side by Nate and Alex (they're really good). We don't want to sell them, so we're only accepting trades. If you have something cool to trade us (it can be anything, as long as it's cool), send Nate an email at luce.nate@gmail.com, describing what you want to trade, and he'll probably agree, and give you the details.
You download an mp3 of 'Dance With Me' here.
