PEGASISSY

I used to write really lugubrious songs, but now they’re mostly catchy and under 3 minutes. I also make acousmatic shit when I have a ProTools nearby. I would be nowhere without Belle and Sebastian. I said it."

Russ Melia is Pegasissy, a one man army, armed with a mandolin or acoustic guitar. Pegasissy delivers his wit and charm with a soft croon, smooth and elegant. Although crowded with character, Pegasissy's compositions seem effortlessly catchy and familiar. Like any good musician, he knows how to make the listener trust every chord and every melody, and leave them singing it themselves.

Right now Pegasissy is poised in Oregon, playing assorted shows this summer and fall. There are a lot of Pegasissy related releases coming from Open Face in 2009-2010. LOTS. Stay tuned for more info - most actively, you can follow the progress on those releases on our twitter.
